lslamic Hotline Phone Service was initially established in Egypt in 2000. It was clear from the beginning that such a service could be replicated internationally. Having established itself in Egypt, after receiving over 2 million calls in the years since its inception, the Islamic Hotline embarked on a mission aiming to become the primary source of moderate Islamic teaching using the mediums of telephone and the internet.

The Islamic Hotline is a pay-per-call service available to callers at anytime of the day. After 48 hours, users will receive an answer from a scholar at the leading authority on Islamic jurisprudence, the Al Azhar University.  This service is now available in Arabic, English, Urdu, Bengali, Indonesian, Malay and Senegalese (Wolof).

The service has been established with the approval of eminent Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Sayed Tantawi, head of Al Azahar Al Sharif. Islamic Hotline Phone service mainly provides the following services to its users:

1) Responding to Questions and Callers’ Queries related to Islam

Islamic Hotline provides anonymous advice and counseling services. Callers dial service number available in their country, record their personal questions after obtaining a secret personal code for each question, then call back for the response after the promised due time. 2) Listening to various Recorded Islamic Information & Audible Content

Call to listen to short-5-minute lectures enunciated by highly respected and recognized Scholars about:
a) Simplified information about Five Pillars of Islam (Declaration of Faith, Prayer, Alms Giving, Fasting, and Hajj), plus information about Marriage & Divorce topics and Inheritance Laws in Islam.
b) Short lessons about Islam, the Prophets, Women’s Apparel and many other topics.

3) Qura’an Interpretation Service (Currently available in Egypt only)

This 60 GB application provides full information about all verses of the Holy Qura’an. Callers can listen to:
a) Simplified Interpretation of each verse of the Holy Qura’an
b) Correct Recitation of each verse of the Holy Qura’an
c) Word Meaning in each verse of the Holy Qura’an (if any)
d) Context of each verse of the Holy Qura’an (if any)
e) Short Account on the headline of each Chapter
 f) Short lessons explaining how to deal with the Holy Qura’an (by Sheikh Khaled d El-Gendy).

4) Send-A-Prayer service (Currently available in Egypt only)

A number of recorded Prayers (Dua’a) related to various occasions, such as Pilgrimage, Marriage, New-born, Sickness, Success…etc, are available on this line. Prayers are recorded by a youth presenter on Iqra’a TV (religious satellite TV channel), Mr. Mostafa Hosni. Call and send a prayer to a mobile in Egypt. You can also send a personal voice message with the Dua’a.

5) Publishing the Book "FASA'ALOU AHL AL-ZEKR", in collaboration with "Dar AL-Ma'arefa" in Lebanon

It presents the most frequently asked questions received through Islamic Hotline from Egypt & the Middle East. Currently available in Arabic Language ONLY and distributed in Egypt and the Middle East.
